On the way back from Aspiring Helicopters base explore Wanaka’s local wines. Maude Tasting Room on Golf Course Road or Rippon Vineyard on Mount Aspiring Road. Both Wanaka’s local wineries have a wealth of history—there is a lot of interesting stories about how these wines came to be! They offer tasting experiences that is as much about the views as it is about the wine. Perched on the hills above Lake Wanaka, there are stunning views of Lake Wanaka and the National Park beyond.
